To maximize office space and allow room for an elegant reception area, the elevator hallway was eliminated and the entry doors for the office were moved to either side of the newly configured space. Glass windows in the conference room and a panoramic photograph on its far wall increase the sense of space.
The custom-designed reception desk includes a lockable roll-top so that everything can be secured when the office is closed.
Historical photographs of Park Avenue help create a sense of continuity. The presentation of the images — large-scale photographs box mounted and lit by framing projectors — provides a fresh, modern twist.
The custom-designed conference table uses the same wood as the reception desk. It’s design references classic forms in a fresh, contemporary manner. For instance, Semicircles and rectangles were often combined on Sheridan consoles, but not on large tables.
